West Yorkshire dominate U12s hockey tournament

West Yorkshire took all the honours at an Under 12s boys hockey tournament last Sunday 22nd May at Park Lane, Halifax.

Two teams of seven, made up of talented youngsters from local hockey clubs in Bradford, Bingley, Wakefield, Keighley and Ben Rhydding, took on the best of North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Lancashire and Humberside. After six games the West Yorkshire first team, captained by Matthew Ramshaw of Airedale Hockey Club, emerged easy winners, while their second team, captained by William Gibson of Wakefield Hockey Club and including Alex Blake (also of Airedale Hockey Club), just edged out Lancashire and Humberside to come in as runners-up

July Onwards 2011

With indoor hockey (Sundays, Sandylands, 4-5pm), you have plenty of opportunities to stay in touch with your hockey chums this summer. It would also be good to get a bit of volleyball in again at some stage. Let Phil C know if you'd be up for the odd game over the summer.

overnighter in Scarboro. Men are away at Scarboro that day, ladies away in Driffied. Haven't looked too hard for accomodation yet but the Travelodge has currently got family rooms at 30 quid so I don't think price will be a concern. A feast of hockey as all 4 teams are playing at home. The ladies serve up a hearty hors d'oeuvres at 10.30 washed down by lashings of second team men at midday. The men's firsts provide the afternoon's entertainment at 1.30 with a rich digestif from the Development team at 3. And once we've sponged ourselves down, an early meal (venue to be confirmed) and then out on the town. Let's hope we're not playing on the Sunday. As usual, let Phil know if you're in for the meal bit.

Summer 2012

Looking to head a little further than Halifax or Huddersfield for some tournament hockey next summer. Plan A is a tourney in Brussels in June..watch this space but please let Phil know if you are at all interested.

And then there'll be the end of season do of course in April (this
year organised by Harriet).
