The 2010/2011 season was very mixed season. With The men’s first team calling on the younger members of the club to fill some rather large shoes (or trousers in Phil’s case). Both Richard Stewart and Phil Ramshaw took early retirement and decided it was time to play for the Airedale seconds. With Tobias Neale going for an early summer holiday to India it was left to Andy Lowey to step up to take the helm.

In true Airedale style they made it as hard as possible to stay in the division having to win their last 6 games of the season!!! At which point the team pulled together and played some outstanding hockey. With their position in the league safe it is now time to look forward to the 2011/2012 season.

A couple of people the team would like to say a special thank you to;

Andy Lowey – Stepped up to not only be the team captain at very short notice but also arranged umpires for over half the season.

Rachel Hall – Organized every game of the season (no easy task with all the snow).

Phil Cooke - Organized another fantastic end of season do (and will hopefully be organizing some summer events).

Training will restart in August but Tobias Neale will be running indoor hockey every Sunday afternoon at 4pm. If you want to play please contact him.
